Polymarket US expands crypto contracts with five-minute settlement windows

The contracts, launched on October 27, settle on whether each cryptocurrency finishes a five-minute window higher or lower, using CF Benchmarks pricing, with winning positions paying 1 dollar. The launch follows 15-minute, hourly and daily crypto markets added earlier in October.

Polymarket US has introduced five-minute price contracts for Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and XRP in its US app, according to FinanceFeeds. The contracts launched on October 27.

How the contracts work

Each contract settles on whether the relevant cryptocurrency ends a five-minute window higher or lower. The short duration makes each window a separate directional outcome.

Settlement uses pricing from CF Benchmarks, according to FinanceFeeds. Winning positions pay 1 dollar.

A shorter addition to the lineup

The launch follows the introduction of 15-minute, hourly and daily crypto markets earlier in October. The five-minute contracts add a shorter time horizon to that lineup.

What it means for prediction markets

  • More time horizons: Participants can now access five-minute outcomes alongside the previously added 15-minute, hourly and daily crypto markets.
  • A defined settlement reference: CF Benchmarks pricing determines the outcome, making that reference central to understanding how the contracts settle.
  • A fixed winning payout: Winning positions pay 1 dollar; the outcome concerns price direction within the window, rather than the size of the move.
