Crypto prediction trading reaches $170 million as Bitcoin windows split narrowly
DeFi Rate, observed on November 2 at 1:00 AM ET, counts 170 million dollars of crypto contracts traded in 24 hours, about 12 percent of all prediction-market trading, with Kalshi crypto volume up 17 percent over 30 days against the prior period. Bitcoin finished up in 608 of its last 1,246 fifteen-minute windows on Kalshi, 49 percent, and in 47 of 96 windows in the last 24 hours.
Crypto contracts generated 170 million dollars in trading over 24 hours, accounting for about 12 percent of all prediction-market trading, according to DeFi Rate’s observations on November 2 at 1:00 AM ET.
The snapshot puts crypto at a measurable share of overall market activity, while Kalshi’s crypto volume showed growth over a longer comparison period.
Kalshi volume rises as Bitcoin outcomes remain closely divided
According to DeFi Rate, Kalshi crypto volume increased 17 percent over 30 days compared with the prior period. That platform-specific growth measure is separate from the broader 24-hour crypto trading total.
Bitcoin finished higher in 608 of its last 1,246 fifteen-minute windows on Kalshi, or 49 percent, according to DeFi Rate. The result describes how often those intervals ended up, rather than the size of Bitcoin’s price moves.
Over the last 24 hours, Bitcoin finished higher in 47 of 96 fifteen-minute windows. Both samples therefore recorded upward finishes in slightly fewer than half of the observed intervals.
What it means for prediction markets
- Activity and outcomes measure different things: The 170 million dollars in turnover and Kalshi’s 17 percent volume increase describe trading activity, not a directional advantage.
- The Bitcoin record is narrowly divided: The 49 percent upward-finish rate is a historical frequency, not a forecast for the next fifteen-minute window.
- Scope matters: The about 12 percent share concerns overall prediction-market trading, while the volume-growth figure and Bitcoin window counts concern Kalshi.
