CFTC challenges state access restrictions at federally regulated prediction exchanges
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued a new interpretation late Thursday saying designated contract markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket cannot geofence customers based on location, even where courts have ordered access blocked. Senator Adam Schiff criticized the move on Friday, saying it undermines state law, tribal sovereignty and court orders.
