97 Percent to Win, 51 Percent to Cover: Notre Dame's Two Markets
Notre Dame against Navy is the second most traded market on the board today, with $3.3 million traded in 24 hours across two venues on DeFi Rate's top-50 list. On Kalshi alone the game has drawn about $2.9 million, and the winner is not really in doubt: Notre Dame at 97 percent, Navy at 3 percent.
Then the market splits. Notre Dame winning by more than 30.5 points sits at just 51 percent on Kalshi — a coin flip. The game total tells the same story, with over 55.5 points at 47 percent. Traders are certain who wins on this Halloween Saturday. They have almost no idea by how much, or how it looks.
It is the pattern across the whole Saturday slate. Georgia is at 80 cents against Florida at 21 cents on Kalshi, Ohio State at 69 cents against USC at 32 cents, and Texas Tech at 63 cents against Arizona at 38 cents. The favorites are clear everywhere. The margins are tight everywhere: Texas Tech by 4 or more is only 51 cents.
That split is what makes a game a market instead of a poll. A moneyline can sit at 97 percent and still leave the real trading — the spread, the total, the size of the win — wide open at fifty-fifty. On a Saturday when sports hold 34 of the top 50 markets and $29 million of $47 million in 24-hour volume, the most honest price in college football today is not 97. It is 51.
