Sundays Trade Double Mondays: The Weekend Effect

Prediction markets keep office hours, just not the ones you would expect. Across the last seven whole weeks, the average Sunday traded $5.2 billion against the average Monday's $2.4 billion. The market's biggest day is the one when its traders are off work.

The busiest single day of the last 60 was Sunday, October 25, at $7.14 billion across venues. Saturdays average $4.6 billion, Fridays $3.2 billion, and the midweek days cluster under $3 billion.

Football is the obvious engine: weekends stack NFL and college slates on top of the always-on crypto windows, and parlays counted outside the category rankings added $243 million in dollars paid in the last 24 hours alone.

The strategic read is simple. Liquidity in this industry is a weekend product. Any exchange planning a launch, a new market or a headline partnership should aim it at Saturday morning, when the crowd is already there.
