The Culture Book Is Not Small Change: $5.4 Million on a Dance Show

The Culture Book Is Not Small Change: $5.4 Million on a Dance Show

The biggest market on Kalshi's culture board is not politics or sport. It is Dancing with the Stars Season 35, with $5,416,441 traded on the winner. Ezra Frech leads at 1.67x, well clear of Amber Glenn at 5.25x — a favorite priced as a favorite, and a field priced as a long way behind him.

The music book tells the same story in a tighter price. Drake leads Top Artist on Spotify in the U.S. for 2026 at just 1.12x, on $2,125,852 traded, with Taylor Swift next at 9.41x. When a market pays barely more than the stake back, traders are not guessing — they are treating the outcome as close to settled, months before the chart is final.

Awards and attention trade smaller, but not trivially. Oscar Best Actor carries $1,430,692, with John Malkovich at 2.34x ahead of Andrew Scott at 5.90x. The most-searched-person market carries $1,773,628, with Lindsay Clancy at 2.34x ahead of Erling Haaland at 8.56x. Even film scores are a book: The Cat in the Hat above 70 on Rotten Tomatoes is 2.29x on $571,027 traded.

That is the point of the culture board. Broadway's 2026-27 season above 14,250,000 attendees is 1.33x on $457,257 traded — a live forecast for theatres, not a novelty bet. Culture on prediction markets now has depth, clear favorites, and millions at stake before anyone hands out a trophy.
