The World Series Became a Trading Floor

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays on October 28 to win the 2026 World Series. On Kalshi, the series was also one of the biggest trading events of the year.
World Series games drew more than $180 million in volume on the exchange: $39.7 million on Game 1, $35.1 million on Game 2, $20.2 million on Game 3, a series-high $51.4 million on the extra-innings Game 4, and $37.9 million on the Game 5 clincher. Nearly 28 million contracts changed hands on the World Series winner market alone, and Kalshi says baseball volume is up more than 36-fold year over year, with nearly $60 million traded on World Series futures before the first pitch.
The pattern is the story: volume spiked when games were close and sagged in the 10-1 blowout. Traders were not betting on baseball so much as trading its uncertainty, pitch by pitch.
The 2027 market opened immediately. The Dodgers lead at 22.7%, the champion Brewers sit second at 11.9%, and the Yankees are third at 11%.
