Spain's DGOJ says prediction markets offering gambling need a Spanish gambling licence
- Spain's DGOJ says prediction markets offering gambling need a Spanish gambling licence — Spain's gambling regulator the DGOJ restated at MERGE Madrid 2026 on October 30 that a prediction market offering gambling under Spanish law needs a Spanish licence. Director General Mikel Arana said unauthorised prediction markets in that category cannot lawfully operate in Spain and access measures are taken to block them, with no update given on the case opened against Polymarket and Kalshi in May.
