- SEC says it is closely monitoring prediction markets for insider trading on company earnings contracts, KuCoin reports — CoinDesk reporting carried by KuCoin says SEC enforcement head David Woodcock told Bloomberg on October 29 that the agency is closely monitoring prediction platforms offering contracts tied to company earnings and performance, and expects enforcement actions for insider trading, fraud and manipulation. Woodcock named no companies and announced no charges, and the SEC and CFTC sought public comment in June on how to define swaps and security-based swaps that may fall under both agencies. (KuCoin)
