CFTC tells Kalshi and Polymarket they cannot cut off customers by state and must operate nationwide, CoinDesk reports

  • CFTC tells Kalshi and Polymarket they cannot cut off customers by state and must operate nationwide, CoinDesk reports — The Commodity Futures Trading Commission under Chairman Mike Selig issued an interpretation late Thursday saying designated contract markets may not geofence customers by state, giving firms 30 days to reopen closed regions or explain why that is not feasible. Kalshi customers in states including Nevada, Washington and Michigan had been geofenced during legal disputes, and appeals courts in the Second and Ninth Circuits ruled against the firms in recent days.
